I am so excited! My family on my father’s side is having a family reunion and my sister and I plan to go and take our kids with. I really do not know my dad’s side of the family. They are really bad at staying close and seeing each other. I will be able to meet family I have never seen. Also family that hasn’t seen me since I was a little child will be able to see me. I talked to my dad’s cousin last night on the phone and he hasn’t seen me since I was very young. Under 6. He is the one that worked hard to get find my sis and I to invite us. I am thankful he did. He said we will not be far from my grandparent’s grave site and that I could go see that. I have not been back to their graves since I was very young.
I got to take time off work so I hope they approve my vacation days to go. It is up by Minneapolis, MN (my real home) and I am looking forward to it. July 28th
Thinking we may be able to go up on Friday and do Valley Fair with the kids and let the kids spend the night under the Mall of America in the tunnels of the huge aquarium (Sleep with the sharks is what they call it) and do the family reunion all day on Saturday and come home Saturday night. I would have to work Sunday night, that part is gonna suck ![]()
I got wedding number two this weekend done. It all went very well. I know I got a ton of awesome pictures. There was a huge pond full of Koi and some were Butterfly Koi so every free minute I had, there I was, sitting at the pond watching the fish. It was so peaceful and someday I am going to have an outdoor pond to sit at. I find it relaxing and I don’t get to relax enough.
Photographing weddings has also opened my eyes. They are all so much alike. The entire thing. It is like people are afraid to be creative. I see a lot of the fake side. True emotions are rare, they do happen, but they are rare. Most of it is staged and I feel it loses the true meaning. I often hear bride’s say they have been dreaming of this day for as long as they can remember. They want to make themselves look like a princess and a fairytale day. I enjoy watching their dream finally come to reality. At the same time though is it all really about all the show or is it really about the love of the couple? Continue Reading…
