I had a very restless sleep last night. I had the worst nightmare.
There will be three different posts, because really news about my daughters first day of school needs its own post. Also a rant about immigration as well coming.
My nightmare, while it is still fresh. I walked into this very large building, it was large as in the amount of ground space it took up and it was very tall in the sky. I had a large envelope in my hands and my lip was pierced (more on this later) and I walked into the building that was full of people. It was really bright and there were so many windows that the sun shined in this huge rotunda like area. There was a cut out in the floor with large leather chairs, table and large plants. A typical nice seating area for a very high end hotel. I walked around for a little bit looking for my ex-husband. I was going to give him this large envelope. I look down a hall and see a very long hall with dark green carpet, white walls and many doors that lead into hotel rooms. I walk back over to this large pillar in this open rotunda and look around for my ex.
This guy to my right with a sword starts to scream and starts to slash people. I see someone cut in half, another running from being scared the guy with all his force slashes him with the sword from the his waist on the left side up to his armpit on the right side. His white shirt is cut, you can see his back and the blood starts to poor out and his falls to the floor. Before this I was unable to really process what this guy with the sword looked like. He looks right at me, long black hair, a beard, black trench coat, black jeans and black shirt. His eyes are empty and cold and he looks crazed. Even though he looks at me he turns and keeps slashing people. I turn around and see another guy doing the same thing. They soon have a handful of people doing it. I didn’t really see the others. Bourne Ultimatum is a must see movie if you like the Bourne series. I went to see it this afternoon and I was not let down at all. It held true and in my eyes to the intense, non-stop action and thick plot. I actually think Ultimatum was the best of the three and was more intense as in non-stop. It just never was slow. Matt Damon has just taken on the identity of Jason Bourne and he just makes the movie! He is not this huge buff guy or what one would see as a huge action actor. He just fits Jason Bourne though and plays it so well. You focus on the actual thick plot of the series and the entangled story that it spells out and this casual guy is the star of the movie. Amazing work.
The ending? I can not complain. I looked at the credits rolling and thought to myself that I am content. I didn’t feel it was that bad of a cliff hanger and leaves you with enough hope of it to continue. I was pleased Jason found his end. That is as much of a spoiler as I will give.
Matt Damon has already told the press he is done with Bourne and does not see playing the part again. However, he said this while still filming. I can understand where you reach the end of something and don’t want to beat it to death and as he said in this film Jason figures himself out and that is what the series is based on, the story is complete. There is nothing left. Is there nothing left? Damon did leave hope though as he said if they came up with a completely different angle and it was good he would go for it again.
This film has so far beat the first two films by a landslide. How can they walk away? I really hope they twist this and go into another direction. We love Jason Bourne and want more. I don’t think it should be rushed. Really they had these three movies spaced out well. It just worked. I think films such as The Matrix did not do so well in that department. The Matrix was an amazing movie, the second was okay but the third one just sucked. The first was so loaded with plot and action and as you progress in the movies it lost its touch. As if it was just thrown together to get it into the theater for the paychecks. It got down right cheesy.
Ultimatum? Anything but cheesy or thrown together. The plot as I said is non-stop and keeps you tuned in. Brilliant screenplay and a huge thumbs up.
